RGU Students Create a Royal Reason to Attend

On Thursday 19 May, The Douglas Hotel, Market Street, Aberdeen, will be hosting a Royal themed charity race night in aid of the North-East's favourite children's charity, Cash for Kids.

The event, Aberdeen Ascot, has been created and managed by a group of third year students from Robert Gordon University studying Communication with PR and Media.

The race night aims to raise £1,000 for the children's charity which provides grants to local disadvantaged, sick and disabled children.

Guests of the race night will be invited to an evening of fun and flutters, and will be encouraged to place their bets, dig deep and most importantly, have fun.

Guests will be greeted with a drinks reception and stovies will be provided during the evening. A great selection of prizes will also be up for grabs in the Aberdeen Ascot raffle. A disco will take place after the races so guests are being asked to take their dancing shoes. The dress code is Royally Glamorous.

Michelle Herd, Cash for Kids charity manager commented on the upcoming race

nigh: "We are so grateful to the students who have put so much work into organising such a fabulous event to raise money for local children and we are really looking forward to a fun filled evening"

The event has been kindly sponsored by Bryant Personnel, Viking Moorings and

20/20 Business Insight.

Tickets for the event are £15 or £12 for students. Tables of 10 are available at a discounted rate of £135. For tickets or more information, please contact aberdeenascot@hotmail.co.uk

All proceeds from the race night will go to Cash for Kids to help them continue their hard work in supporting local disadvantaged, sick and disabled children and young people throughout the North-East.
