Scottish Enterprise 2011-14 Business Plan

Please find attached a link to Scottish Enterprise's 2011-14 Business Plan.

It's an ambitious plan, with a clear set of proposals to deliver economic growth in Scotland. Across all sectors the emphasis is on working to create more globally competitive companies which innovate, attract investment and internationalise.  There is a particular focus on the Renewables sector which we believe offers some of the best opportunities for Scotland's economy.

Over the next year, Scottish Enterprise will invest £332 million in a range of projects and company support programmes.  As a result of this investment, we expect to:

  • encourage £65-£75 million of new business investment in research and development from R&D and Smart grants
  • attract £40-£60 million of private sector equity investment in Scottish companies through the Scottish Investment Bank
  • leverage £130-£150 million of private sector investment in the National Renewables Infrastructure Fund (NRIF)
  • achieve at least 25,000 tonnes of C02 savings from our company support activity
  • help the 2,000 companies it works most intensively with achieve additional turnover growth of £500-£700 million
  • secure 1,600-2,400 new high value jobs to Scotland through inward investment
  • support 110-170 companies to generate additional turnover of £1 million over the next three years from export activity

Collaboration and integration is key to the successful delivery of the plan and we will continue to work closely with our partners and other agencies, ensuring integrated support for Scottish companies and allowing them to exploit opportunities both domestic and international.
