Scottish Government Minister Opens Indigo Technologies’ New PremisesScottish Government Minister for Parliamentary Business and Chief Whip, Brian Adam, officially opened the new premises of expanding IT firm, Indigo Technologies on Friday, 28 October 2011. The company has more than trebled its office space following the move into a 4200 sq ft four storey building at number 16 Rubislaw Terrace. This expansion is part of Indigo’s continued growth and recruitment plan, which has seen the team increase to seven staff this year with the recent creation of a new engineer post. The expansion follows the end of a buoyant year for Indigo which saw its client base grow to almost 100 companies, a rise of 20%. This led to the company achieving a £100,000 increase in turnover, totalling £600,000 for the financial year ending March 2011. Minister for Parliamentary Business and Chief Whip, Brian Adam, said: “Indigo Technologies is an outstanding IT success story. Congratulations to everyone on the team who have helped secure such a triumphant year, despite the testing economic climate. Its client base has been increased significantly and turnover is up, I am delighted to officially open their new premises and look forward to their continued success and hearing about plans for even further growth. “We recognise that innovation is crucial for the Scottish economy to grow and are committed to ensuring that Scotland has a world-class, resilient digital infrastructure that is fit for the digital age and available to everyone. We also welcome the development of a broadband plan for Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire and will continue to work with the local authorities, ACSEF, Scottish Enterprise and other stakeholders in this important work.” Commenting on the office opening Sean Thomson, director at Indigo, said: “Over the past six years Indigo has experienced continued steady expansion in terms of turnover, clients and staff and the move to Rubislaw Terrace will facilitate ongoing growth for Indigo. “We have recently won a number of new contracts in addition to expanding the scope of work carried out for existing clients. This led to the recent appointment of a fifth engineer, however with several other contracts in the pipeline we predict that we with have to further grow our engineering team shortly”. Indigo recently became the first company in Aberdeen to be awarded Gold status under the Microsoft Server Platform competency. It was also the first to attain IBM partner status. The company also boasts a qualified licensing specialist, who is believed to be the only one based in Aberdeen.
