SENIOR ABERDEEN APPOINTMENT AND FAST GROWTH FOR GDF SUEZ E&P UK LTDFast growing North Sea operator GDF SUEZ E&P UK Ltd has made a senior Aberdeen-based appointment to lead all new development and operational activity in the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS). Mike Robertson has been appointed as development and operations manager, to drive the company’s North Sea operations as it invests heavily in existing and new exploration and production developments such as the Cygnus and Juliet fields in the Southern North Sea.
Plans for further growth and investment are also leading the company to seek larger office space only two years after establishing a UK operations base in Aberdeen’s Union Plaza employing 100 people.
Robertson has 20 years of North Sea industry experience gained in engineering and project management positions at both major service companies and operators including BP and Talisman Energy. He has worked for GDF SUEZ E&P UK since 2008.
Robertson commented: “This is an extremely exciting time for GDF SUEZ E&P in the UK. We have an optimistic view of the North Sea and believe that there are many opportunities for operators that are prepared to invest and look at innovative ways to extract value from mature or previously unviable assets. We are investing for long term returns to secure supply and grow our UK portfolio.
“The move to new and larger premises underlines our commitment to Aberdeen and will enable all our teams to work under one roof while giving us capacity for further growth.”
