Skibo Technologies Predicts Strong Growth for 2010

IT Services company, Skibo Technologies (“Skibo”) has announced its plans for growth in 2010 further strengthening the business after it experienced structural changes, including the appointment of a non executive director, last year.

The Aberdeen-based business which currently has 24 staff – double its workforce at the beginning of 2009 – is set to create at least a further eight IT specialist positions in the coming months. There are also plans to move to new, larger premises in Aberdeen’s West End in the first quarter of this year to accommodate the steadily expanding team.

A leading authority on IT solutions to the oil and gas sector, Skibo was launched in 2005. Its turnover has increased annually by over 50% in each of the last three years and it predicts it will see a 40% growth in turnover in 2010.

Mark Mair, Managing Director of Skibo, says, “2010 will be another challenging year for many companies, however following a buoyant year we’re optimistic that the business will continue to grow. We are actively looking to recruit new members of staff who can add value to the company and further enhance our dynamic team of IT experts.

“Skibo has grown very quickly in the last three years and we now need to concentrate our efforts on being more strategic in our approach to growing the business, in terms of the team and our client base - an area that our new non executive director Kenny Duncan has already been supporting us with since his appointment at the end of last year.

“These planned eight new appointments and a move to larger premises, are a key part of our business plan and will refine our offering to current and perspective clients. To allow our growth to progress at a steady pace we will be continually developing our own systems and procedures. We have an in-depth understanding of the markets that we operate in and to ensure that the Skibo message is communicated clearly and consistently, we will be developing our brand both domestically and internationally during the year.

“In 2010 you can expect to see several new developments in the IT industry which could positively impact north east businesses and the way that they operate. We’re predicting many of our clients will move away from on premises IT and explore cloud computing where software and services are delivered directly from the internet.

Based in Aberdeen’s Balgownie Technology Centre, Skibo provides complete computing infrastructure and collaboration solutions. The business is both a Microsoft Certified Gold Partner and Cisco Certified Partner. For further information on Skibo, visit www.skibo.com or call 01224 701860.
