Stockland Muir announces speculative development at Aberdeen Gateway

Stockland Muir, the joint venture partners responsible for Aberdeen Gateway Business Park, have announced plans to invest £3million in a development of speculative industrial units.

The first phase of the development will comprise two units extending to 11,700 sq ft and will consist of a quality workshop facility with high specification offices arranged over two storeys, fully secure concrete yards and excellent car-parking provision.

Construction of the first unit is well underway with completion expected by the year-end.

Commenting on the reasoning behind this latest development John Muir, Muir Group chairman, said: “Aberdeen Gateway is a prime business location to the south of Aberdeen. The new development therefore provides a fantastic opportunity for a business to move into a highly sought after industrial area.

“And with local market conditions improving all time, we felt that now was an excellent time for us to further develop the business park.”

Property firms Knight Frank and Ryden have been appointed by Stockland Muir to provide marketing advice and secure tenants for the new development within Aberdeen Gateway Business Park.

Neil Young of Knight Frank said: “It’s great to see yet another example of a developer putting their trust in Aberdeen and the offshore industry.

“There is a shortage of quality industrial units at present and new developments of this nature are few and far between. We therefore believe the development will appeal to many businesses.”

Aberdeen Gateway is a fully serviced business park comprising a total of 45 developable acres. The site was established in 2008 and existing occupiers include Hydrasun and National Oilwell Varco.
