Strengthened senior management team for CHC Helicopter

LEADING global helicopter services provider CHC Helicopter is announcing a major restructure and series of strategic appointments within its senior management team in Aberdeen to support the existing customer base and grow its key markets.

Nick Mair has been appointed regional vice president for the Western North Sea division following the integration of CHC’s European and Global operations into a single Helicopter Services division.

Tasked with leading CHC’s business units in Aberdeen, Humberside, North Denes, Den Helder in the Netherlands and Esbjerg in Denmark, he will also oversee the Search & Rescue (SAR) bases in Ireland and the UK.

Mair, who has been with CHC since 1999 and most recently held the post of vice president of operations, will continue to be based at CHC House in Dyce.

Further senior changes in Aberdeen include the promotion of Rob Pendle to vice president of maintenance and technical services; and the appointment of Dave Stewart as finance director.

De Jansen has been appointed director of flight standards based in the Netherlands. His former post, business unit leader for the Southern North Sea, will be filled by Paula McKenzie. Both have worked from CHC’s North Denes base in the east of England for a number of years.

“This is a very exciting time for CHC as we look to maximise the continued investment in our services and fleet to enable us to meet both our own future growth aspirations and the needs of our customers,” said Mr Mair.

“Our newly strengthened leadership team will improve the development of our business and co-ordination across the European team which is an important growth engine for the company. The new structure not only makes a significant contribution towards CHC’s drive to enhance our operational performance, it also underpins our existing position as the leading operator in the field.”

Globally, the Helicopter Services division will be led by newly appointed president John Graber. He will split his time between CHC’s various European operations.

The largest offshore helicopter operator, CHC services 55% of the North Sea market from a number of bases in Scotland, England, Holland, Denmark and Norway. It also provides SAR services to the UK and Irish Coast Guard. It employs a workforce of around 460 people in the UK and posted a turnover of £161million (UK business only) in 2010.
