Students occupy Aberdeen University

Around fifty Aberdeen University students have occupied the university offices on Regent Walk in protest of education cuts and in support of Wednesday’s public sector strikes.

Following a protest on campus, called by the Aberdeen Defend Education Campaign, students entered the University office presenting three demands to the University management; to protect the jobs of lecturers and staff, to turn down any bonnuses and to speak out against the Government’s economic policies.

The students are vowing to stay in occupation “as long as it takes.”
