Aberdeenshire businesses will have the opportunity to explore the challenges and highlights of setting up and running a successful business at the Chamber’s next Shire Connections event.

The ‘How to think like an entrepreneur and succeed in business’ event is part of Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce’s ongoing Shire Connections Networking Lunches, and will be held at the Barn and Bushel, Thainstone Mart, Inverurie on Thursday, September 15. It will be chaired by Gary McEwan, Chief Executive of Enterprise North East Trust.

Aberdeenshire Council is the main sponsor of the event which will feature a panel of speakers who will provide practical advice and tips on developing and growing a business that can be applied to any workplace.

Claire Rennie, founder of Berry Scrumptious which produces a range of award-winning berry based products, will share her experiences of running an online business selling a highly perishable niche product and how the business has successfully adapted to contend with the recession and economic downturn. Andrew Gordon, owner of Andrew Gordon butchery and Fine Foods, will outline his journey which has seen him transform his business from one with a turnover of £300,000 to £1.5 million. He will also highlight the importance of drive, ambition, passion and connections for running any successful company.
