TCO UK Wins Major UKCS Contract

Aberdeen-based TCO In-Well Technologies UK Limited, a provider of well completion technologies to the global oil & gas industry, has been awarded a new contract worth half a million pounds.

The contract, which is with an oil major, will involve the provision of completion and intervention services to cover UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) assets.

TCO UK sales and marketing manager Rob Grassick, who is also chairman of industry body ICOTA, said: “We are extremely pleased to have been awarded this contract and consider it a major milestone for our work in the UKCS.

“Our revolutionary series of laminated glass tubing disappearing plugs have significant safety benefits for operators and make well intervention and completion safer, less complex and more effective.”

TCO UK recently completed a UK industry first with the remote opening of a subsea well in the UKCS using its own patented technology, the TDP-2 Glass Plug.

The firm’s in-well technologies provide innovative solutions to oil majors’ operational challenges - the laminated glass ISO 14310 VO certified isolation and barrier plugs are currently the only technology of its kind available to the market.
