THE FIRST '61 PLATE' BRAND NEW COACHES IN THE UK ENTER SERVICE

Bus operator, First Aberdeen Ltd, has agreed a long term hire of two brand new ‘Daf Temsa Executive Luxury Coaches’, with a view to a subsequent purchase next year.

The coaches were on the road in Aberdeen this morning (September 1st) at 0001hrs meaning that they are the very first of a select number of ‘61’ plate coaches to enter service in the UK.

One of the first assignments of the state of the art new coaches, (worth over £200k each), will be to transport officials and support teams during the Walker Cup, the amateur equivalent of golf’s Ryder Cup. The 2011 tournament is being staged at Royal Aberdeen Golf Club on September 10 and 11 - FirstGroup has been named as the official transport provider to the 2011 Walker Cup.

Commenting on the new delivery, Interim Managing Director of First in Aberdeen, David Stewart said: “All our luxury executive coaches are available for hire and I’m delighted to be able to strengthen our service proposition with the addition of two new coaches at a time when both the tourism and corporate sectors of the market are becoming ever more discerning about quality.”
