Export Assistance Jon Woodwards, our International Business Director is available to advise your company on how to develop an export strategy. Jon will visit your company, discuss your 'fitness' to export and help you put together a development plan. We can provide advice and information on any aspect of international trade. Our library holds information on markets, regulations, industry sectors, useful contacts and basic exporting information. Also available is information on schemes and programmes offering assistance, both practical and financial. UK West Africa Action Group Aberdeen Chamber of Commerce is the secretariat of UK WAAG (West Africa Action Group). This is an industry led organisation formed to promote the skills and experience of the UK oil and gas service sector to the emerging markets of West Africa and to encourage UK oil and gas service companies to consider the opportunities offered primarily in the markets of Angola and Nigeria. Market Research The Chamber's International Business team has the expertise and experience to carry out detailed market research on behalf of client companies. This can take the form of desk research, in-market research or both. Our comprehensive databases and co-operation with other support organisations locally and nationally enables us to tap into many resources and respond quickly to most requirements. Regardless of the sector reports can be delivered to suit individual company requirements. The Chamber team has, to date carried out assignments from Japan to Norway. Over the past three years we have organised 15 trade missions to markets such as Angola, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, Cote D'Ivoire, Gabon and Singapore involving more than 80 companies in many industrial sectors. We also organise one to one clinics and group presentations with British Embassy Commercial Officers on duty tours. Business Gateway International Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce is a partner in Business Gateway International. Export Controller - The Ideal Tool for the Committed Exporter Export Controller is an innovative Windows Software program, available from the Chamber, enabling businesses to develop a structured export strategy. It creates an export 'best practice' environment under the main subject headings of: The Export Decision Audit of UK Operations Selecting the Market Market Research Winning Business & Expanding Sales Within each discipline the user can enter the resources to be used, the costs and time involved to complete a task. Based on this information, the program calculates the total cost of an export initiative which can then be compared to the anticipated return from the market.
