Aberdeen based training specialist, Survivex, today, 28th April 2011, announces the appointment of Andrew Green as finance director. The 27 year old has overall responsibility for all finance and IT matters within the company and will sit on the board of directors. Survivex offers in-house and offshore training to the energy industry globally and will open its purpose built offshore survival and manual skills training centre, the biggest in the UK, in Dyce this May.

Andrew joins the training specialist from professional services firm Deloitte where he was part of the oil and gas team based in Aberdeen. During his spell at Deloitte he provided a range of assurance, due diligence and business modelling services to owner-managed, private equity backed and multinational clients. Prior to this he worked in London for a leading brokerage house trading fixed income derivatives. Andrew has an honours degree in electrical engineering, as well as a master’s degree in finance and chartered accountant status.

Carole McLennan, operations director of Survivex says, “As finance director, Andrew will sit on the board of directors at Survivex and will be responsible for developing detailed financial projections and ensuring effective monitoring of financial performance against our business plan. He will liaise with external advisors to develop and maintain effective relationships with banking partners and other stakeholders.

“We have invested significantly in the development of Survivex, our purpose-built training centre has the highest quality training equipment and to ensure that we achieve our goal of becoming the market leader, it is essential that we have the right people on our management team. Andrew’s knowledge of engineering and the oil and gas sector, paired with his financial background makes him ideally placed to oversee the financial growth of the company.”

Survivex will offer offshore survival and manual skills training from its 53,000 feet new build training centre in Dyce in Aberdeen. The bespoke centre is currently under construction and will open in late Spring 2011. Prior to the training centre opening, Survivex is offering a comprehensive range of training both offshore and onshore at client facilities. The centre also features conference and meeting facilities for hire – both equipped with state of the art audio-visual and video conferencing equipment. The conference suites can accommodate meetings and seminars, from four people upwards, with a capacity for up to eighty people in a cinema style setting.
