TV Dragon, Duncan Bannatyne, hosts ball in Aberdeen for the Scottish Spina Bifida AssociationDuncan Bannatyne OBE, is to host a glitzy, glamorous ball in aid of the Scottish Spina Bifida Association, of which he is Patron. Entitled ‘Duncan Bannatyne’s Questionable Ball’, the spectacular event will be staged at the historic Mercure Ardoe Hotel and Spa, a luxury four star resort set in 30 acres of peaceful countryside just three miles outside the city centre of Aberdeen on Friday 18th November. The Ball will certainly be one to remember, you will join Duncan Bannatyne and his VIP guests at the sensational Champagne Reception, then follow him into the stunning ballroom for a sumptuous feast of the very best of seasonal Scottish produce. The entertainment line-up will be truly breath-taking and with a once in a lifetime auction, amazing prize draws and lots of surprises for all the guests it is an event not to be missed. It will be a great night to party, dance the night away and network until 2.00am!
So why is it called Duncan Bannatyne’s Questionable Ball? Who better to explain then Duncan himself, “On the evening all the guests will be invited to place a bid, to ask me questions about my journey to success. No matter what they ask me, for one night only, I will have to answer. I am nervous, as I have no idea what the questions will be, but it’s all in aid of a very good cause; the Scottish Spina Bifida Association (SSBA), a Charity of which I am proud to be Patron.”
Duncan explains why the Charity is so important, “Every year the Scottish Spina Bifida Association support over 3,500 children, young people and adults throughout Scotland affected by spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus and their allied conditions.”
He continued, “Please join me at my Questionable Ball and help raise vital funds for the only charity in Scotland dedicated to providing advice, advocacy and support for families living with the life-long and complex disabilities of spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.”
Despite being the only charity in Scotland that supports those with spina bifida and hydrocephalus, the SSBA receives less than 1% in government funding. In 2011, the SSBA need to raise over £1 million just to maintain their current level of vital support services, support centre, training, projects and lo-call Helpline, which is why events such as this are so crucial to the charity’s work.
Support form Scottish Businesses... Such is the importance of the event that many of Scotland’s leading businesses are supporting the event; this includes 88 events who will be dressing the venue in dazzling accessories and the richest of fabrics fit for a queen, a fitting tribute to a building whose design was inspired by Balmoral Castle.
Duncan added, “There are a limited number of tickets available for this truly glamorous event, so I would advise people to book early for a really special night to remember, why not take a table as part of a Christmas night out; whether you bring clients or attend as part of your company’s Christmas celebrations you will have fantastic time!”
Tickets are priced at £1500 for a table of ten, or £150 per person. Tickets are limited so please call 01236 794508 to reserve your ticket now, or email fundraising@ssba.org.uk. Visit www.ssba.org.uk/qball for further information.
