VSA’S 140th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Local social care charity VSA will be holding its 140th Annual General Meeting on Thursday 13th October 2011 in the Town & County Hall, Town House, Aberdeen.

The meeting will be chaired by VSA’s Chairman, Dr Vijay Jandial, who will speak about the agency’s activities and achievements over the last year, and its ongoing plans to continue improving service delivery and staff development. VSA’s Chief Executive, Kenneth Simpson will also be launching VSA’s new capital appeal to raise £.5million for Ruthrieston House, part of it’s Older People’s Service.


VSA will be presenting its annual fundraising awards, as follows –

• The Schools Award to Robert Gordon’s College where 4th year students won £3k for VSA’s Friends for Life Clubs through the Wood Family Trust’s Youth & Philanthropy Scheme.

 

• The James Logan Award for Outstanding Achievement to Apache North Sea Ltd who funded and project managed the refurbishment and renovation of a cottage at Linn Moor School, costing over £100k.

 

• The Melville Watson Award for Corporate Achievement in Fundraising to CNR International for giving outstanding support by sponsoring VSA events and for a number of other fundraising activities.

 

• The Michael Archibald Award for Volunteering to Neil Haig who has volunteered in the VSA Bookshop for over 26 years.

 

• The Jandial Award for Corporate Volunteering to Michael Page International for their involvement in a number of VSA’s projects and fundraising activities including volunteering at Easter Anguston Farm and modelling in VSA’s Fashion Show.

 

• The Maggie Wilson Award for Philanthropy to Garreth Wood who has supported VSA for a number of years and who recently committed to a 3 year sponsorship deal of VSA’s Annual Ball worth over £100k to VSA.
