We Think You’re Gonna Like it HereAberdeen Youth Choir will be getting people’s toes tapping at the annual Insight Aberdeen Third Sector and Volunteering Fayre on 2nd July. The group of eight to eighteen year olds will be performing a selection of well known songs from the musical Annie, including “I Think I’m Gonna Like it Here”, “Hard Knock Life” and “Tomorrow”.
The Choir’s Director, Jayne Carmichael, explains, “We’re planning to put on a production of Annie Jr in September. This is a simplified version of the original musical which is easier for young children to memorise. Our performance at the Insight Aberdeen Volunteering Fayre will be a sneak peek of the show, and we’re very much looking forward to it.”
Insight Aberdeen, which is organised by ACVO (Aberdeen Council of Voluntary Organisations), is an opportunity for members of the public to find out about the great work carried out by the city’s charities and community groups. Almost fifty organisations will have stalls at the Fayre providing information about what they do, why they do it and how to get involved.
Insight Aberdeen is being held at The Music Hall from 10am-3pm on Saturday 2nd July.
Aberdeen Youth Choir will be taking to the stage at 2pm for their fifteen minute performance. Also performing on the day are local children’s music group, Music in Motion, who will be performing in song and sign language and a hip hop dance troupe. 99 views
