Who will lift the trophies at the Aberdeen Corporate Decathlon Sports Ball?

After 10 gruelling events throughout the last nine months, staff from 32 companies from across the North-East are preparing to let their hair down at the Aberdeen Corporate Decathlon Sports Ball sponsored by independent oil development and production company EnQuest PLC.

This week, our annual decathlon culminates at this glitzy ceremony, where all our teams will be rewarded for all their efforts throughout the Aberdeen Corporate Decathlon 2011, which has seen company teams compete in everything from badminton to ballroom dancing, basketball to canoeing and even tossing the caber!

This Black Tie event will take place on Friday 28th October 2011 at the AECC, where teams will find out the overall champions of the Aberdeen Corporate Decathlon 2011 along with a ‘Players’ Player of the Year’ from each of the participating companies, and the prestigious overall Captain of the Year award. Teams will also receive recognition for their fundraising for local charity, CLAN.

The Sports Ball is being sponsored this year by EnQuest who are currently participating in the League 2 of the decathlon.

David Heslop, UKCS General Manager quotes “This is the first year that EnQuest has participated in the Corporate Decathlon and I have been encouraged by both the dedication and effort displayed by my colleagues. As EnQuest is a new, rapidly growing company, the decathlon has provided an excellent platform for team-building as well as an informal way of introducing new starts to their colleagues from all areas of our business. The Sports Ball marks the end of a fantastic year for all companies involved and we are delighted to be able to support this occasion.”

Through the Corporate Decathlon, activitymix works with organisations of all sizes to engage employees through physical activity, helping to deliver improvements in communication, boost motivation and productivity, provide leadership opportunities and reward and recognition, while at the same time supporting health at work initiatives.

This year, staff have not only raised thousands of pounds for CLAN but also learned invaluable personal skills through tackling challenges they may have never tried before. This rings especially true for team captains who are tasked with leading their teams as well as promoting the event within their company and encouraging participation.

Spaces for the Aberdeen Corporate Decathlon 2012 are available now but are limited, please contact Adele Wilson or Tiffany Sheppard on 0845 2700 160 for more information.
