We live in a sell more, sell faster economy. The amount of time between buying and discarding a product is getting shorter and shorter, indeed many products are still functioning when they are discarded.

Consequently there is a lot of value in our waste streams which we are not benefiting from. Managing the waste we generate is becoming a greater and greater burden on society and we are using and discarding many non-replaceable raw materials.

The circular economy aims to address this by looking at how we can significantly reduce the amount of waste we generate and seek to get more value from it.

We will connect companies across the region, helping them realise the benefits the circular economy presents to diversity, reduce costs, gain better value from their waste and explore the potential new business opportunities it presents.
