Join us at our next international trade event to hear how the cross-border trading environment is changing in a post-Brexit Britain and discover the steps your business should be taking to prepare.

The UK manufacturer or trader currently enjoys free access to sell goods to EU countries without customs formalities and minimal licencing requirements. With the UK leaving the EU, the status quo in customs arrangements most probably will change. If you already trade with the rest of the world and are faced with customs checks and procedures, you will need to ensure you are prepared and compliant going forward.

Jackie Thom, HMRC international trade development liaison office national manager
Jackie Thom will provide insight on the recent updates on the customs procedures and formalities required to secure frictionless border crossing.

George Jenkins, customs compliance manager, Petrasco
George Jenkins will focus on Authorised Economic Operator (AEO), outlining the importance and benefits of obtaining this certification. AEO is an internationally recognised quality mark which demonstrates that your organisation’s supply chain is secure and that your customs controls and procedures are both compliant and efficient.

Shane Taylor, Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce research and policy manager will be chairing the event and will provide a short update on the current status of the process on transitioning existing international trade agreements – those that the UK currently participates in as a member of the EU - and the trade and mutual recognition agreements the UK has signed with non-EU countries.

Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce export documentation team will be available to answer questions on the Chamber’s export documentation services which include; Certificates of Origin, Arab British Certificates of Origin, Preference Certificates, Letters of Credit and ATA Carnet and customs declaration service.

Find out how the Chamber’s documentation service ensures customs clearance is accurate, timely and avoids additional costs and learn about the government funding currently available to support businesses facing Brexit related risks associated to international trade.
