Speakers:
John Tomlinson, Grampian Regional Equality Council Limited
Ollie Folayan, Chair, The Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (the AFBE)

Grampian Regional Equality Council (GREC) was founded in 1985 as a Community Relations Council and works to eliminate discrimination and prejudice, build stronger communities, celebrate diversity, and provide evidence to change policy and practice.

GREC’s mission is to advance equality for all people and from the beginning GREC has played a leading role in the North-east in advancing equality for the region.

Hear John Tomlinson of GREC discuss how they are tackling discrimination and promoting good community relations in the North-east.

The Association for Black and Minority Ethnic Engineers (AFBE-UK) are actively involved in promoting public awareness of engineering and the opportunities for black and minority ethnic (BME) groups in engineering. They are also influencing governmental policies in relation to BME engineers and ethnic minority community groups in the UK.

AFBE-UK aims to challenge and inspire people of black and minority ethnic origin to make enhanced contributions in their respective fields, and to add value to their communities using engineering as a platform.

Ollie Folayan, chair for AFBE, will be focussing on the oil and gas industry in the region.
