Tourism is a key sector of the North-east economy that supports 20,000 jobs in the region - around one in 10 of Scottish tourism jobs.
The vision for 2020 and beyond is to make Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire a sustainable destination of choice, with skilled and passionate people delivering value for money and memorable customer experiences, by enhancing our region’s outstanding assets.
This full-day conference, held by the region’s destination management organisation VisitAberdeenshire, looks at how tourism businesses can make the most of the support on offer, as well as giving a relaxed environment in which to exchange ideas and network with like-minded people.
About the event
The day will comprise of a variety of different presentations, where delegates hear from expert speakers who can help their business, with the opportunity to ask questions as well as dedicated networking breaks.
Learning from others is a key part of this conference. The afternoon’s interactive session is specifically designed to set you up with the opportunity to discuss in groups how you can maximise return for your business from large scale events taking place in the region, and how partnership working can further support this.
VisitAberdeenshire and Meldrum House are committed to keeping it local and delegates will be treated to a day of delicious treats including a breakfast bite, a fabulous lunch feast and a light afternoon snack, all from some of the region’s finest local producers.
Following the formalities, delegates will get the chance to meet with some of our speakers in one-to-one micro meetings. These will be available to be booked on a first come, first served basis, with confirmation of who will be available to meet available in due course.
You spoke, and we listened. Feedback in previous years indicated that you would like to see this event hosted in Aberdeenshire, and where better than at the newly refurbished Meldrum House Country Hotel & Golf Course.
We appreciate this might mean a little further to travel for some of you, so why not take advantage of FREE return transport from the city centre by booking to “network on the bus” on the way there in one of First’s hydrogen buses. Please note places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Who should attend?
This conference is designed for tourism operators of all shapes and sizes. Normally, we would not expect more than four people from one organisation to book, in order to maximise the numbers of businesses that can attend. However, we will be happy to hold a reserve list, and dependant on the number of bookings, we may be able to release additional spaces to businesses, nearer the time of the conference.
Does your business operate in a different sector, but has something to offer this audience? Why not find out about ways in which you can promote your product or services. Whether you want a platform to promote your brand, or the opportunity to have a small stand at the conference, there are a variety of promotional options.
