The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, has announced that the government will publish its first ever Autumn Budget on Wednesday 22 November 2017.
The Autumn Budget sets out the government’s plans for the economy based on the latest forecasts from the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR).
EY and Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce invite you to their Budget Business Breakfast, the morning after.
We will tap into the analysis of the announced Budget, where our speakers discuss the impact and repercussions of the Chancellor’s pronouncements. Bob Cardno and Derek Leith, from EY, aim to illuminate how the Budget will affect you and your business.
Bob is a Director in EY's Aberdeen tax team. He has over 14 years’ experience in North Sea oil and gas corporate taxation matters, dealing with areas ranging from acquisitions, disposals, corporate reorganisations and fiscal policy matters, to reporting and compliance issues. Over that period Bob has worked with a wide range of oil and gas companies from start-up exploration businesses, and independent exploration and production companies, to majors. He also played a significant role in advising the oil and gas industry, through Oil and Gas UK, on the introduction of Decommissioning Relief Deeds in 2013. Bob is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Tax Advisor.
Derek has more than 25 years’ experience in Taxation in the Inland Revenue, the oil industry and EY. He is a specialist in the taxation of oil and gas production companies and a regular media commentator, conference speaker and industry tax participator on oil and gas issues. He has extensive experience of international tax planning including financial structures, and of advising multi-nationals with overseas operations.
A panel of local business leaders will also be in place to give their views on the budget and the key issues affecting their sector, and aim to illuminate how the Budget will affect you and your business.
