With a new government in place and hellbent on achieving growth, how has sentiment changed in the North-east business community?
The Quarterly Economic Survey is the UK’s largest and most representative private business survey providing an up to the minute picture of business sentiment across over 5,000 businesses throughout the nation.
The results attract a significant amount of media attention and are closely watched by policymakers such as the Treasury, the Bank of England and the Office for Budget Responsibility as well as helping Chambers to shape their government engagement activity.
We’ll be joined by representatives from the report sponsor Gilson Gray and other panel members to discuss the key issues and trends specifically focusing on where the North-east picture differs from the rest of the UK.
Additionally, in this latest survey, we have introduced new questions seeking to understand more about the funding pressures facing businesses specifically the availability of debt and equity funding.
The Chamber will also provide a short briefing on its policy and economic development activities with a new Westminster Government in place.
