As of March 15 2021, smaller businesses can apply for the government's SME Brexit Support Fund in order to receive up to £2,000 to help with international training or professional advice.
Eligible businesses must have no more than 500 employees nor more than £100m annual turnover. The fund is available to help SMEs adapt to new customs and tax rules when trading with the EU.
Businesses can use the fund for training on:
- how to complete customs declarations
- how to manage customs processes and use customs software and systems
- specific import and export related aspects including VAT, excise and rules of origin
Applications close on June 30 2021.
