Leading UK retailer Sainsbury’s, will open a new store at Aberdeen’s new and growing town, Countesswells.

The respected food retailer will be opening a 4,000 sq ft Local store within the neighbourhood centre that is currently under construction. This is beside the site of the forthcoming primary school and at the heart of the first phase of the development. Construction works will complete in May 2021 and the store is expected to open in the summer.

The new Local store will offer an excellent range of fresh food as well as other convenience products. The store will also include an ATM cash machine for the convenience of the residents of Countesswells.

Countesswells is an exciting new town to the west side of Aberdeen. It is set in a beautiful environment between Hazelhead and Countesswells Woods and contains within it green and civic spaces and extensive parkland. Countesswells will provide in excess of 3,000 new homes along with supporting community facilities such as this new Sainsbury’s Local store. The town will have two primary schools and one secondary school.
