Local greengrocer adopts circular approach

Local greengrocer adopts circular approach

A new plastic free shopping experience has opened in Banff, Aberdeenshire.

Oliveira’s launched in late February 2019 and is Banff’s first zero waste greengrocer aiming to address the growing concern of single use plastics.

The shop sells a large variety of fresh fruit and vegetables, ambient goods and even offers customers the ability to bulk buy. The initiative intends to drive customers to move away from single use plastics and instead move to adopt a more circular approach. Customers are encouraged to bring their own bottles, jars and packaging and use Oliveira’s pay by weight service when purchasing food items.

Since the start-up’s launch, Oliveira’s continues to expand on its product offering beyond food and into a larger selection of household goods.

For more information, please visit Oliveira’s Facebook page here.
