When I first stepped into the world of hospitality, I was a quiet, eager learner standing at the front desk. Fast forward a few years, and today I proudly serve as General Manager at the Palm Court Hotel under Scotsman Hospitality.
This journey didn’t happen overnight. It’s been shaped by every guest interaction, every shift where I stayed late to make things right, and every leader who believed in my potential. From my early days at Marriott where I built the foundations of professionalism, empathy, and resilience I began to grow in confidence, both as a person and as a leader.
Marriott taught me structure, consistency, and the importance of detail. More importantly, it taught me how to communicate effectively, lead under pressure, and always put the guest experience at the heart of everything. These lessons gave me the springboard to progress through roles, eventually leading teams and shaping service standards myself.
Now, as General Manager at the Palm Court, I’m excited to be part of Scotsman Hospitality a group that doesn’t just reward hard work but actively develops future leaders. Scotsman is giving me the tools, freedom, and mentorship to take things even further, and I’m truly energised by the vision ahead.
Hospitality isn’t just a job it’s a training ground for life. It challenges you, grows you, and if you give it your all, it will give back tenfold. My confidence, my leadership, and my career have all been built on this industry.
To anyone just starting out: believe in the small wins, learn from every role, and say yes to the opportunities. You never know where it will take you I certainly didn’t.
