Get your training funded

Are you aware of the financial support available to support your business?

The EU will remain a vitally important market for Scottish businesses after Brexit. With increasing demand for Scottish goods across the world, ensure your organisation is ready to capitalise on these opportunities with the right training in place ahead of a departure from the EU.

There are two financial support options available to help you prepare for Brexit.

Brexit Support Grant

The Scottish Government’s Brexit Support Grant provides a minimum of £2,000 and up to a maximum of £4,000 to help small to medium-sized businesses in Scotland manage a wide range of Brexit impacts.

Respond to Brexit implications and take advantage of funding to support additional training needs within your organisation. The grant could cover, but is not limited to, the costs of two employees learning the basics of exporting and understanding the concepts and procedures involved in international trade in a post-Brexit Britain. The full list of international training courses can be found on the Chamber website.

HMRC Training Grant

Businesses can obtain grants to cover up to 70% of training costs to give employees the skills to complete customs declarations. This UK Government training grant is designed to specifically help businesses prepare customs procedures and checks after Brexit.

The Chamber’s half-day Customs Declaration training course will provide an overview of the new processes and forms to follow and outline how to meet the customs requirements fast and efficiently.

The grant could also be used to cover the costs of delivering in-house training. For more information, please visit prepareforbrexit.scot.

The deadline for applications has been extended to May 31 but may close sooner depending on demand.
