Aberdeen marketing powerhouse Prospect 13 has marked a significant milestone celebrating its fifth year in business.

P13 Founder and Managing Director Cerri McDonald hosted a glitzy gathering at Bar Below earlier this month with friends, family and clients all helping to mark the special occasion. The evening’s entertainment included superb saxophonist Matthew Kilner, who set the perfect party vibe. Topped off with Asian-themed bbq and array of exclusive P13 themed cocktails, the celebrations were a truly fitting way to mark five years of the inspiring P13 journey!

The Bridge of Don based agency was established by Cerri in 2018 with just a laptop, her kitchen table and a formidable fusion of tenacity and determination to make bold and straight-forward marketing and communications available to all. Five years on, the company has evolved to deliver strategic marketing vision and insights supporting a range of cross sector SME’s.

Offering a suite of scalable specialist services, Prospect 13 helps clients with effective marketing to raise profiles through enhanced stakeholder engagement.

The vibrant company offers an innovative approach to outsourced marketing and has built up a solid client base throughout the North East of Scotland and beyond.

Prospect 13 has grown from humble beginnings with a team of two in its first small office who had leveraged a gap in the market when virtual marketing services did not yet exist in Scotland. By tapping into this opportunity to introduce a fresh approach to outsourced marketing, Cerri set the business on a steep growth trajectory, not just financial growth, but physical growth with a move to larger premises in Aberdeen’s Energy Park.

All of which has acted as a springboard for year-on-year growth with an expanding and diverse client base of around 25 clients, many of which have worked with Cerri since inception and are supported by a now 10-strong team of marketing and communications professionals.

“I passionately believe that to deliver tangible marketing success and uplifting results, you need to get under the skin of a business and truly ‘get’ them,” says Cerri.

“The success of Prospect 13 to date has been built on delivering the highest levels of marketing support and customer satisfaction. Our in-house expertise has grown significantly across the board which benefits our clients thanks to our collective knowledge and expert skillsets.

“We are grateful, not only for the trust our clients all over the world have placed in us to deliver focused marketing services, but also for their positive feedback and referrals which contribute significantly towards our continued prosperity.”

Woven into Prospect 13’s DNA is an unshakable commitment to fostering up-and-coming marketing talent. From talks and careers events in local schools to taking on student placements and supporting Developing the Young Workforce, Cerri is dedicated to inspiring the next generation.

Prospect 13 also delivers free marketing support to a local children’s charity and recently became a Young Person’s Guarantee organisation, aligning with its commitment to improving future outlooks.

A key element of that dedication is the agency’s work with the Robert Gordon University to welcome placements students – and the results can be life-changing.

As part of the third year BA (hons) Digital Marketing, placements provide hands-on practical digital marketing experience and Sarah Kelly joined Prospect 13 to become part of the team developing two websites.

Such was the success of Sarah’s placement that she was offered part-time work during her final year, a full-time job on graduation – and she won a Northern Star Placement of the Year Business Award to boot. Following in her footsteps is Annie Buchan who also made such a great impression during placement that she too is now supporting her studies with part-time work.

“The creation of learning opportunities is vitally important for Prospect 13 and is as much a part of our company ethos as providing an excellent service to clients,” Cerri explains.

“Celebrating five years in business is incredibly exciting and gratifying as we pull together as a team with a sense of purpose to work towards a common goal of making positive change and improving our future outlooks as well as that of our clients.

“We know technology and the digital marketing space in particular is moving fast and constantly evolving – but so are we!

“I can’t wait to see what the next five years have in store as I feel like we are just getting started!”
