It’s now been a year since the acquisition of GIF Transport & Logistics Limited, and it’s been great to see the progress we’ve made over the past 12 months, supported by our customers, partners and team.
Our move to the new site in Dyce has been an important step forward for our Aberdeen operation. It gives us improved access to the city and port, additional hard standing and a more efficient base for our vehicles and storage. While planning for our permanent warehouse facilities has taken longer than we’d hoped, we remain fully committed to delivering everything we have planned for the site.
Operationally, it’s been a strong year. We’ve had a busy summer and continue to see healthy levels of enquiries, and our team has worked hard throughout to make sure customers receive the reliable service they expect from us.
Further south, the expansion of our Southampton cargo yard to 7 acres gives us an exciting opportunity to strengthen cargo movements between Aberdeen and Southampton and provide customers with an increasingly connected UK logistics service.
We’ve also brought our teams closer together over the past year, with David Nightingale appointed Group General Manager for Logistics and greater integration between GIF and Williams Shipping. Bringing together our people, facilities and expertise puts us in a strong position to build on what we’ve achieved so far.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to our customers, partners, and team members for being part of a successful first year. We are excited about the opportunities ahead and look forward to continuing our shared growth in the year to come.
