Proud to be a sponsor

It isn’t long until the 2017 Northern Star Business Awards nominations will open and for another year I have the pleasure of participating in these awards.

What makes the NSBA different for me, is the diversity of award categories and entrants, bringing together the greatness of the North-east of Scotland.

Often awards ceremonies highlight the achievements of one particular industry or activity whereas the Northern Star recognises the achievements of many through its diverse categories such as; Outstanding Contribution to Society, The Business Diversity Award and Commitment to People Development.

During judging sessions, it is evident business of all sizes and sectors can go head to head. The Northern Star Awards are for all businesses; not just those in oil and gas, large or international corporations. The awards are to celebrate and recognise the achievements of those organisations who have a unique place in the North-east and fulfil a real need in the region or have something unique to offer.

I am grateful for the opportunity RedWave (Aberdeen) ltd has to continue sponsoring the Outstanding Contribution to the Energy Sector. The region hasn’t seen such change in the industry in a long time, forcing us to step up to that flywheel and push a bit harder. This category should see real innovative submissions and contributions.

This year should be another exciting year for the Northern Star Awards; starting with the launch in March, the judging in May, meeting the finalists at the finalist reception in September and ultimately the glitzy and glamorous awards ceremony in October.

We have an ultimate business network gem in the North-east with the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce who work hard to support us all. This event allows us to shine and boast (yes, I think that’s allowed) about how great the North-east business community is - so let’s take advantage and enter the awards or support them in any way you can.

I am confident that you’ll learn something about how great we are.
