The importance of choosing the right lighting partner for hazardous working areas

IN high hazard working environments, providing your workers with the essentials to get on with the job at hand, and in the safest and most efficient manner, is of paramount importance. Lighting – to help workers see exactly what they are doing – is absolutely crucial.

Atexor Ltd, designers and manufacturers of EX lighting and power distribution systems have been working with its clients in the oil ad gas industry, both offshore and onshore, providing robust solutions to oil refineries, drill ships and similar operations.

Operating on a global scale and with its UK headquarters in Aberdeen, Atexor is well-known for delivering reliable, high quality solutions with the ability to solve complex challenges with our innovative thinking.

With first class design and engineering right through to vigorous end to end testing procedures, our portable lighting equipment is so much more than just basic Ex-lights. We pride ourselves on our testing capabilities which is carried out over three stages, and as such, we are confident that we offer the safest and most robust solutions available on the market.

We work closely with all of our clients to select the right equipment that is fit for purpose and will keep workers safe. Firstly, we identify the intended purpose of equipment along with ensuring that the equipment category and explosion group is suitable for the particular EX-area classification required by our clients. We will then compare the equipment certification to the highest acceptable temperature of substances that contribute to the danger of an explosion, as well as assess the ambient temperature of the application of use to ensure the equipment is suitable in the EX-area classification.

Our aim is to consistently ensure that our products fit our client’s exacting requirements and in many cases, we exceed expectations in terms of the required safety standards.

Atexor’s SLAM®, MICA® and SLAM FIXED extensive product ranges are designed for long-term use, requiring minimal maintenance. As well as ATEX and IECEx-certified products, we also offer products with GOST, DNV and other relevant certifications.

The company also prides itself on its active role in working with international committees to develop standards for equipment used in explosion hazardous areas. As such, we are continually stressing to companies across the globe the importance in investing in the right equipment, that is cost effective in the long run and ultimately - and most importantly - keeps workers safe at all times, allowing them to do their job.

We will be exhibting at The Ultimate Business Show (TUBS) on April 18 so come along and visit our stand. Click here to find out how to attend.
