There’s something special about seeing your work on a cinema screen. No matter how many times we’ve watched it in an edit suite, on a laptop, or a phone, it changes when it’s 30 feet high and filling a room. It feels more real, intentional and it matters more.

That was the thought behind our Urbane Media Cinema Showcase - a chance to gather our customers, collaborators and friends for an evening that wasn’t the usual networking event.

We wanted to celebrate the people, companies and stories we’ve had the privilege to work with. And more importantly, we wanted to say thank you to everyone who has trusted us to tell their story.

Showing someone their own video on the big screen isn’t just about spectacle, it’s about giving their story meaning.

The cinema showcase included:

  • Brand films that showcased identity and values
  • Project overviews that highlighted innovation
  • Community and cultural pieces that held real emotion
  • Moments of teamwork, challenge, leadership, creativity, and pride

One of the best parts of the evening was seeing clients from completely different industries starting conversations with each other, because storytelling cuts across sectors. The challenges of communicating, engaging audiences, building trust, and inspiring people are universal - whether you’re an energy company, sports professional, or high-end brand.

We spend so much time working closely with teams, capturing interviews, exploring ideas, and collaborating on scripts, that we get a real sense of the people behind the project. But once a project is delivered, the next one usually begins straight away.  The cinema showcase was our way of pausing to celebrate the work we do with our fantastic customers and demonstrating that we can go beyond the standard video production.

That evening was the first Urbane Media Cinema Showcase, and we plan to hold more in the future, to continue to celebrate the power of creativity, collaboration and of course, video.
