Following its sell-out success in 2024, Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce is bringing together legal experts from across Scotland to host another ‘Dealmakers’ Business Breakfast in 2025.

A significant amount of M&A activity has involved combinations of large businesses in the upstream oil and gas sector and the divestment of divisions of energy services groups. There have also been quite a number of bolt-on acquisitions by private-equity backed companies.

In all these cases, integrating the target into the wider business is crucial in realising value for the price paid.

At this Dealmakers Breakfast, we will hear from Neale Stidolph of Sword Group on some of the key areas to take into account when integrating a business.

Neale will then be joined by an expert panel of Nicola MacLeod (GC and Director of D2Zero), Barry Fraser (Partner, Grant Thornton) and Frank Fowlie (Partner, CMS) to consider how these issues arise, what can be done about them before signing the deal and how they are dealt with during interim periods before close and crucially after completion when seeking to drive that all important value.
