Parking in city centre council car parks for £1 after 5pm is set to return to the city centre in January.
The move, which was approved at Aberdeen City Council's Finance and Resources Committee yesterday, is designed to help businesses after the busy festive season.
The car parks that will be eligible for reduced parking rates include Virginia Street, the Gallowgate, Frederick Street, Summer Street, Chapel Street, West North Street, and the Denburn.
Council co-leader councillor Ian Yuill said: “The £1 after 5pm scheme was popular the last time so we are happy to bring it back again.
“It will be an incentive for people to come into the city centre at the traditionally quieter months of January and February after the busy festive rush and we hope businesses will benefit from it.”
Committee convener councillor Alex McLellan said: “The £1 parking after 5pm, seven days a week, will hopefully provide an added boost to city centre businesses in January and February which can be a bit quieter after the busy Christmas period.”
