8848 scoops Best Aberdeen Indian Restaurant honour again

8848 Restaurant has won a prestigious award for the second year in a row.

The Union Street eatery was named Best Indian Restaurant in Aberdeen City category at the 2018 Aberdeen and Highland Curry Awards – following up on its success in the same category last year.

Krish Bhetuwal, co-director at 8848, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to win this award for a second successive year and to be recognised again as the best Indian restaurant in Aberdeen.

“We have an unwavering commitment to using only quality ingredients and, whenever possible, local suppliers. This latest award is an endorsement of that commitment. The accolade also recognises the hard work and loyalty of the 8848 team.”

More than 300 people attended the 2018 Aberdeen and Highland Best Curry Awards at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel by Aberdeen Treetops (March 27, 2018).

8848 invested a five-figure sum in a refurbishment programme which was completed last month (February). The business opened in Aberdeen in November 2014 and has become a popular dining experience for Indian food lovers from across the north east and visitors to the city. Its extensive menu offers traditional Indian and Nepalese cuisine.

The city centre eatery can seat up to 75 people in its main dining area and can host functions in a private area with separate bar for up to 30 guests. The restaurant takes its name from the height of Mount Everest in Nepal – 8848 metres.

8848 is open 2pm until 10pm from Sundays to Thursday, and 2pm to 10.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. Lunch, a la carte and all-day tapas menus are available.
