In August 2025, IntrospeXion launched its Neurodiversity Awareness Training: Unlocking Potential in the Workplace.
The initiative was founded on the principle that the future of business belongs to those who think differently, highlighting the importance of neurodiversity.
The training is underpinned by the view that organisations must embrace diverse thinking and unique perspectives as crucial drivers of innovation.
What is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity refers to the natural variation in how brains are wired and function. A neurodivergent individual is someone whose cognitive processes differ from what society typically defines as ‘neurotypical’.

Conditions such as Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, and Tourette Syndrome affect 15–20% of the UK population and approximately one in seven people. Despite this, neurodivergent individuals represent only 21% of the workforce. Nevertheless, neurodiverse teams have been shown to be 30% more productive than teams composed solely of neurotypical individuals.
This disparity signals a missed opportunity for businesses, particularly in innovation-driven sectors such as Aberdeen’s energy industry.
Dr Neelam Zia, consultant psychologist at IntrospeXion, said: “Businesses that support neurodivergent talent unleash creativity and secure a competitive advantage. The future belongs to the organisations who recognise and value all kinds of innovative minds.”
