Multi award-winning and critically acclaimed musical Six is among three new hit shows heading for Aberdeen’s His Majesty’s Theatre.
The Bodyguard and Shrek the Musical complete the trio of sensational new shows announced by Aberdeen Performing Arts today.
Critically acclaimed internationally with a sound-track storming up the UK pop charts, sell-out Tudor take-off Six the Musical was named winner of the 2022 Whatsonstage Award for ‘Best West End Show’ and will be making its royal debut in Aberdeen May 9-13, 2023.
From Tudor Queens to Pop Princesses, the six wives of Henry VIII take to the mic to tell their tales, remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a 80-minute celebration of 21st century girl power.
Aberdeen Performing Arts Director of Programming and Creative Projects, Ben Torrie said: “With chart-topping music and a powerful message, Six is musical theatre at its cutting edge best, packing a punch with its feminist take on Henry VIII’s reign. This is a must-see show and we are proud to be bringing it to Aberdeen along such a spectacular production as The Bodyguard, and of course this brand new production of Shrek the Musical, which is guaranteed to be full of family fun.”
“We hope audiences don’t lose their heads and get their tickets booked!”
