The Aberdeen Adventurer will be on-hand this weekend to offer Tall Ships visitors a chance to take in the best the city has to offer in its open-top bus tour.
The sightseeing tour bus, a partnership between Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce, VisitAberdeenshire, Aberdeen City Council, Aberdeen Inspired and McGills Xplore, will run with a number of route diversions to as a result of various road closures.
The starting point for the route will now be Littlejohn Street instead of Broad Street for the duration of the Tall Ships event.
Other closures and diversions are detailed below:
- Stop closures
- 21st - 23rd: Fittie stop closed
- 21st and 22nd: Beach and Fittie stop closed
- 20/07/25 15:30 onwards (1 day): Guild Street stop closed (alternative stop on A956 - Palmerston Road). Music Hall, Theatre and Upperkirkgate stops also not served.
- Route Diversions
- 16th - 23rd (Castle Street closure)
- Departing from Littlejohn Street, turn right onto West North Street, 3rd exit onto Commerce Street at circle, turn right onto Virginia Street, onto Guild Street loop, turn left onto Market Street, turn right onto Union Street, turn left onto Broad Street and resume normal route.
- 18th - 23rd (Regent Quay closure)
- Normal route until York Street, turn right onto Wellington Road, Links Road, Beach Boulevard, Commerce Street, Virginia Street and resume normal route from Trinity Quay.
- 20th 15:30 onwards (Parade closure)
- From Littlejohn Street departure, left onto West North Street to resume normal route until York Street, turn right onto Wellington Road, Links Road, left onto Beach Boulevard, Commerce Street, Virginia Street, down Esplanade, across bridge (still A956), right onto Abbotswell Road, right onto West Tullos Road, right onto King George VI bridge, left onto Riverside Driver to resume normal route until Queen's Road - Albyn Place circle, continue straight down Carden Place instead, Skene Street, Woodmanhill, 1st exit onto Skene Square, right onto Maberly Street onto Spring Garden, turn right onto Gallowgate then left onto Littlejohn Street. (missing out Guild Street alt. Palmerston Road, Music Hall, Theatre and Upperkirkgate also).
- 21st - 23rd (South Esplanade)
- After Beach stop, 2nd exit at circle onto Links Road, Beach Boulevard, Commerce Street, Virginia Street to resume normal route. (missing out Fittie stop).
- 21st - 22nd (Esplanade Events)
- Normal route until Urquhart Street, turn right onto Links Road, onto Beach Boulevard, Commerce Street, Viriginia Street to resume normal route. (missing out Beach and Fittie stops).
The Granite City is set to host tens of thousands of visitors this year with The Tall Ships and Offshore Europe and the Aberdeen Adventurer is the perfect option for corporate days out.
