Aberdeen Air Source Heating has further strengthened its position as a renewable energy specialist in the North-east of Scotland after achieving certification to design and install solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage systems.
The move expands the company’s growing renewable energy offering, enabling homeowners and businesses to generate their own clean electricity through solar power. The new solar PV and battery storage system capabilities complement Aberdeen Air Source Heating’s existing air source heat pump installation services. Together, these technologies allow customers to generate, store and use their own renewable energy, helping reduce reliance on traditional fossil fuels.
Solar PV systems convert sunlight into electricity that can be used within the property, reducing the need to draw power from the grid. When paired with battery storage, excess energy generated during the day can be stored and used later, increasing efficiency and maximising savings.
The expansion comes at a time when many homeowners are looking for ways to reduce reliance on traditional fuel sources and gain greater control over their energy use.
Robert Devine, Managing Director of Aberdeen Air Source Heating, said: "With global events continuing to influence energy markets, many households are becoming more aware of how unpredictable traditional fuel costs can be. We’ve seen how quickly things like heating oil prices can change when supply is affected.
“Renewable technologies such as air source heat pumps, solar PV and battery storage give homeowners a way to take back control. By generating and storing their own energy, they can reduce reliance on fossil fuels and create far more stability in their energy supply and costs over time.
“Adding solar PV and battery storage is a natural next step for the business and allows us to offer customers a more complete renewable energy solution.”
Aberdeen Air Source Heating continues to see growing interest in renewable technologies as more homeowners and businesses explore ways to future-proof their properties against rising energy costs while reducing their environmental impact.
