Aberdeen Arts Centre has announced its first ever Christmas Fayre, shining a spotlight on local artists and creatives while raising funds to secure the centre’s future.
The fayre will be held from 5-9pm on Tuesday, December 2 for Aberdonians to browse local crafts and handmade items just in time for Christmas. The centre’s Café Bar will also be open all evening, serving up mulled wine, hot drinks and snacks.
Entry to the craft fair costs a minimum of £3 per person, with all proceeds going towards the campaign to Save Aberdeen Arts Centre. Advance tickets are available from https://www.aberdeenartscentre.com/whats-on/save-aberdeen-arts-centre-christmas-fayre and entry will also be payable on the door.
The event coincides with Giving Tuesday, a global initiative that aims to inspire the general public to support their favourite charitable causes.
Aberdeen Arts Centre fundraiser Julia Smith said: “The arts and our community are at the heart of everything we do at Aberdeen Arts Centre, so we’re really excited to shine a light on those people who are creating wonderful art and craft items in the local area.
“Giving Tuesday is a chance for people to get out there and support the causes they care about. Aberdeen Arts Centre’s Christmas Fayre is the perfect opportunity to do that – supporting the home of grassroots, people-powered arts in Aberdeen while also picking up some amazing, locally-produced Christmas gifts.”
Aberdeen Arts Centre will welcome local crafters and makers for its first fundraising Christmas Fayre on December 2, 2025.
Local craftspeople, producers and makers have until Sunday, November 9 to register their interest in taking a stall at the event. Stallholders will reach an engaged audience who are passionate about supporting local artists – while raising vital funds for the future of the Arts Centre.
Stallholders can register their interest at https://www.aberdeenartscentre.com/whats-on/save-aberdeen-arts-centre-christmas-fayre.
Aberdeen Arts Centre is an independent arts venue in the heart of Aberdeen, operated by registered charity Castlegate Arts Ltd for over a quarter of a century.
For more than 60 years, Aberdeen Arts Centre has played a crucial role in the north east’s vibrant arts scene through its programme of performances, Creative Learning Programme for children and adults, and an Artist Development Programme to support local professional creatives.
In May 2025, the centre launched the Save Aberdeen Arts Centre campaign – a three-year fundraising drive to raise £660,000 to secure its future. The campaign has raised over £132,000 so far. Individuals and corporate sponsors can find out more and donate at https://www.aberdeenartscentre.com/save-aberdeen-arts-centre.
Aberdeen Arts Centre encompasses a 350-seater auditorium; café bar; flexible spaces for performances, events, exhibitions and meetings; and the Children’s Theatre, opened by Catherine Hollingworth in the 1950s as a pioneering youth theatre (the first of its kind in the UK) and now used as a vital resource for professional artist development.
