Due to changes in local and national business rates the 2017-18 rates bills for will be issued later this year. Normally, business rates bills are issued on or around April 10 in any year; this year, however it is anticipated that it bills from Aberdeen City Council will be issued around w/c April 24.

An Aberdeen spokesperson said “We would like to apologise in advance for the delay between businesses receiving their notification from the Grampian Assessor and receiving your annual rates bill.

The delay is due to changes in Scottish Government legislation and, as a result of these changes, to allow time for upgrades to our software to ensure correct system calculations and billing.”

The Grampian Assessor (who is carrying out the revaluation) is sending out formal Valuation Notices to all businesses on March 15. These notices will confirm the new Rateable Values to be used from April 1 2017.

Any enquiries regarding your rateable value should be directed to the Grampian Assesor at assessor@grampian-vjb.gov.uk or by phone on (01224) 664360.
