As Aberdeen’s harbour bustled with excitement for the famous Tall Ships arrival, local cleaning business Triumph Cleaning was playing its role in making sure the city was ready to impress, from the ground up (or perhaps from the roof down!)
The firm has been working with several businesses to get their buildings clean and sparkling ahead of the event and last week saw the team carry out one of their largest projects yet; a large-scale external window clean at Union Point, the 11-storey landmark building overlooking Aberdeen Harbour. With 792 windows cleaned entirely by rope access, the project marks a major milestone for the business and a debut for its newest specialist service.
Alex Cardow founder said: “Union Point is one of the most prominent buildings on the harbour front and being asked to prepare it ahead of the Tall Ships was a real privilege – along with a great view too!”
The clean was completed using Triumph’s newly launched rope access service, which allows safe and efficient cleaning at height, without the need for scaffolding or powered platforms. Alex and his team recently undertook intensive training and certification to deliver this specialist capability, which is now available to commercial and industrial clients across Scotland.
With the city set to attract thousands of visitors during the Tall Ships event, the timing couldn’t be better. “We’ve been looking forward to putting our recent rope access training into action and this job couldn’t have been a better fit. There’s been a real buzz around the harbour with all the preparations and we’re proud to have played a part in helping the city look its best for the arrival of the Tall Ships,” added Alex.
“Rope access is increasingly being used in commercial and industrial cleaning for its versatility, particularly where space or height restrictions make other methods difficult. It allows us to carry out maintenance and cleaning work at height without scaffolding or heavy equipment, making it ideal for city centre buildings and sites with limited access.”
As the harbour becomes a hive of activity for the Tall Ships Races Aberdeen, this latest project from Triumph Cleaning is a clear example of local businesses helping the city prepare for an international spotlight.
With the successful completion of this first rope access project, Triumph Cleaning now offers this specialist service to businesses across Scotland, whether for regular maintenance or one-off cleaning projects at height
