An Aberdeen-based chemicals company has been acquired by a major US firm in a deal described as a "strong strategic fit."
FIS Chemicals, which is headquartered in Bucksburn and employs 22 people, has been bought by Texas-based Shrieve Chemical Company.
FIS supplies chemical products to a range of industries including oil and gas, renewables, marine, hospitality and logistics.
The company will now become part of Shrieve, which distributes more than 1,500 chemical products worldwide.
Chief Executive Kenny Woods said the acquisition represents "a strong strategic fit," the P&J reports.
The deal also marks a successful exit for investors Foresight Group and Maven Capital Partners, who backed a management buy-in of the firm in 2020.
