Terra Firma Chambers is delighted to announce that Ryan Houghton has been called to the Faculty of Advocates and joins the stable, practising in commercial litigation, property, public law and planning disputes.
Ryan, an elected member of Aberdeen City Council since 2017, worked at law firm Ledingham Chalmers LLP before coming to the Bar. He will be based in Aberdeen.
Welcoming Ryan, Terra Firma’s Practice Manager, Emma Caskie-Potter said: “I am very pleased Ryan has joined Terra Firma. He brings not only talent and dedication, but also a genuine enthusiasm for the law, and his arrival further strengthens the offering provided by the stable in our core practice areas. My deputies and I look forward to working closely with Ryan, as he establishes his practice at the Bar – which I am sure will take no time at all.”
Ryan added: "I'm delighted to be joining Terra Firma Chambers, whose strengths in commercial, planning, property and public law match my own interests. Being based in Aberdeen gives north-east solicitors and their clients a local advocate, available here, as well as one able to appear in the Court of Session in Edinburgh and Courts and Tribunals throughout Scotland. I look forward to working with firms across the region.”
