Aberdeen Cyrenians staff and volunteers are
celebrating after Conor Morrison was awarded Bright Spark in Social Care at a
glittering ceremony in Glasgow at
the Scottish Social Services Awards on November 9.
The award comes just a few months after the
local charity was awarded Large Charity of the Year at the Celebrate Aberdeen
awards in September, along with multiple other finalist nominations.
Chief Executive Chris Bennett-Taylor said: “I
am delighted for Conor to have been recognised for his consistent enthusiasm
and passion for his work.”
Conor represents, and is, a wonderful example
of the tireless work and dedication of all our colleagues across Aberdeen
Cyrenians services.
The recognition in being nominated as finalists
in three other categories as well as winner of Bright Spark in Social Care
demonstrates the high quality of our commitment to investing in people, and the
quality of care delivered by all our services.
To have been awarded Large Charity of the Year at Celebrate
Aberdeen and now Conor winning Bright Spark in Social Care is fantastic.”
Conor Morrison said “I’m so humbled to have
even been nominated for this award let alone to win it.
Our work is always about putting people at the
centre of our care, so I don’t really think about my part in it. I work
with an amazing team that give so much every day so it feels really good to
have been noticed and I’m sure will inspire us to continue helping people.”
