With unforgettable scenes across the harbour, Aberdeen Douglas Hotel and Shiprow Village reflect on an inspiring week as the Tall Ships Races sailed into town, bringing global energy and a celebration, highlighting our city’s potential.
Aberdeen Douglas Hotel and Shiprow Village applaud the incredible success of Tall Ships Races Aberdeen 2025.
Last week saw our historic harbour transformed into a global stage as nearly 50 international Tall Ships arrived, right on our doorstep, welcoming approximately 400,000 visitors to discover (or rediscover) the magic of our beautiful granite city.
The atmosphere throughout the city was nothing short of electric. With live music, cultural showcases, local vendors and jaw-dropping parade, the Tall Ships brought an energy that Aberdeen hasn’t felt in years.
As proud neighbours to the action, we joined the celebration across the Shiprow Village venues and a surprise pop-up bar right across from The Ivy Lodge. Featuring the Guinness trailer and the wildly popular Blind Tiger Bus, a double-decker bar led by Shiprow’s own Milo Smith, the space became a go-to spot for a refreshing pint, harbour views, and plenty of cheer come rain or shine. All the venues were packed with visitors, and we were met with so much positive feedback about the city and its offerings!
The entire team at Aberdeen Douglas Hotel and Shiprow Village were thrilled to be part of such a significant moment for the city. We waved the ships off on Tuesday with a mixture of pride and hope… hope that Aberdeen will continue to welcome world-class events that showcase the vibrant, creative and collaborative spirit of our community.
Here’s to more events like this…Aberdeen deserves it.
