Founder of Appetite for Business recognised among the UK's leading entrepreneurs as the business celebrates ten years of helping organisations unlock the full potential of Microsoft 365, cybersecurity and AI.
Aberdeen entrepreneur Sheryl Newman, Founder and CEO of Appetite for Business, has been named a finalist in the prestigious Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards, which recognise entrepreneurs demonstrating outstanding innovation, commitment to service excellence and meaningful impact within their industries.
Founded around a kitchen table in Aberdeen in 2016, Appetite for Business was built on a simple vision: to help organisations realise the full potential of technology through trusted advice, exceptional service and long-term partnerships.
Ten years later, the business has grown into a team of specialists supporting organisations across the UK with Microsoft 365, cybersecurity, governance and AI adoption. Appetite for Business has earned a reputation for helping organisations make better technology decisions, reduce risk and unlock greater value from the investments they've already made. By combining Microsoft expertise with governance, cybersecurity and AI adoption, the team helps customers turn technology into measurable business outcomes rather than simply deploying new tools.
The recognition comes at a pivotal time for UK organisations. As businesses embrace AI at pace, many are discovering that success depends not simply on new technology, but on strong governance, trusted data, cybersecurity and giving people the confidence to use it well.
Commenting on the recognition, Sheryl Newman said: "When I started Appetite the goal was simple: to help organisations realise the full potential of technology and give them advice they could genuinely trust. While technology has transformed over the last decade, that purpose has remained the same.
"This recognition belongs to the exceptional team who work alongside me, the organisations that have trusted us with some of their most important technology decisions, and the community that has supported us throughout the last ten years.
"From day one, our commitment has been clear: to lead with service, act with integrity and create meaningful impact. Technology will continue to evolve, but those values of commitment to our customers don't change..Huge congratulations to fellow Aberdeen finalists Anurag Rai, founder of AMHWAL, and Pamela Miller, founder of AB Fiftyone, also representing the city at this year's awards.”
Often described as the "Grammys of Entrepreneurship", the Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards celebrate the founders behind some of the UK's most dynamic businesses. This year's finalists were selected from more than 5,000 entries from across the UK.
Frankie James, founder of the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, said: "When we launched the Great British Entrepreneur Awards in 2012, we set out to back the businesses that get on and build, the ones that don't always get the recognition they deserve. More than a decade on, over 5,000 applications tell me we were onto something. This year's cohort represents billions in turnover and tens of thousands of jobs, but what I'm proudest of is the determination behind those numbers. These are founders who have stuck with it through every kind of year and championing them is exactly why we do this."
