SpinLab is set to officially launch this week as Aberdeen's first full-time dedicated table tennis facility.
To mark the launch, SpinLab is opening with a free evening launch party on Thursday September 24 at South College Street.
The venue has eight tables on Enlio flooring, and is available to host:
- Corporate away days, team building and staff socials
- Networking events, with table tennis as the icebreaker
- Exclusive whole-hall hire — all eight tables to yourself
- Birthday parties and celebrations
- School and community group sessions
Murhad Hussain, founder of SpinLab, said: "Aberdeen has played table tennis since 1934 without a home."
SpinLab was founded by international table tennis player and IOC Young Leader Murhad Hussain. Murhad has spent his life around the game - playing internationally, coaching, and experiencing first-hand what opportunities can grow from something as simple as access to a sport. Now he's bringing those experiences to Aberdeen by creating the kind of table tennis space he believes the sport deserves.
A place to play. A place to progress. And a place where the next opportunity might be much bigger than the table. The Table Tennis Project CIC is SpinLab's social-impact project, using the game to help tackle child poverty, food insecurity and inequality in Aberdeen. Inspired by Ping Pong Alkmaar in the Netherlands and supported by IOC Young Leaders, SpinLab creates welcoming, accessible opportunities for young people to play, eat, learn and belong — regardless of their background or circumstances.
