Hotel rooms across Aberdeen almost completely sold out this week as the EAGE Annual Conference and Exhibition drew visitors from far and wide to the city.
The major European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE) event launched on Monday and concludes today, with more than 6,000 attendees flooding the North-east and packing out bars, restaurants and hotels.
The Press and Journal reports event organisers have praised the Granite City as the "perfect host" for the event.
Stephen Gow, General Manager of The Chester, told The P&J: “You see when there’s an event in the city what a difference it makes, you saw that with Tall Ships and we’re seeing it again with this conference.
“It’s very positive for the city as it sells bars, it sells restaurants, it sells hotel bedrooms and in general gives the city a whole reputation.
“We have a great stock of hotels of really good quality, lots of great bars and restaurants, so major events are definitely a way forward for the city.”
